Heir to the throne

Today, 29th of April 2011, we celebrate an important event in Britain's history.

A new bond will be formed, with billions of people watching..... watching two special people.

One is an heir to the throne, another, an ordinary lady.

Of course, I'm talking about the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Their history goes a long way back, since their first meeting in 2001 at the University of St Andrews, in Scotland. Kate Middleton was a shy character, born and raised in the countryside of Berkshire, England, she has came a long way, to university, meeting the Prince, and finally being in a relationship. The two often went on trips and outings abroad.

However, all had not been well in their relationship, after dating 6 years till 2007, they were faced with difficulties and they decided to break up. Despite this, they remained good friends and rekindled their relationship months later. Since then, they have come this far until one day, in the vast deserts of Kenya, Prince William decided to propose to Kate Middleton. There had been lots of controversy beforehand, as this was the first time a member of the royal family were to marry an ordinary person with no royal heritage.

The date is set and they were to celebrate. Their big day is here.

Beforehand, there was much commotion. Even the couple's faces coved British souvenirs, from mugs to towels, in addition to the commotion caused on magazine covers. Even bets have been placed on their weddings, betting on what colour hat the queen would be wearing, what time they would reach Westminster Abbey, etc, all shows the creative minds of Brits, trying to make money out of every opportunity.

Be sure that the people of the world would have their eyes fixed on this couple, even now, as we sit in front of the television, watching their marriage being played out on the big screen.

This event turns tables around, an ordinary Brit, with no royal blood, to take over the long line of monarchy passed down from Queen Elizabeth and ancestors. This would change the fate of Britain, or even England in the long run, and even the way it is being governed.

Well I have said enough, let us wait and see how this marriage plays out. Let us wish Prince William and Kate Middleton, our congratulations and our best regards.
